Little Dearies Enchanted Forest

My Little Dearies

Hunter Quinn

DOB: December 26, 2021
Kit: Elijah by Joanna Kazmierczak-Pietka

From the moment I set eyes on this kit, I knew he would be added to my personal collection. I love his scrunchy face and curled-up limbs.
I was discussing name possibilities with my daughter, and knowing how I love to name my babies after characters in movies or shows that I love – she suggested Hunter which was referring to Graham in Once upon a Time (he is the huntsman for the Evil Queen). I thought of how Hunter is also the name of a Trooper in Star Wars The Bad Batch and I was sold. I love names that have double meanings! His middle name, Quinn – may make you laugh – it’s due to my obsession with baby clothing by the brand Kate Quinn Organics 🙂

Anya Evenstar

DOB: July 29, 2021
Kit: Lindea by Gudrun Legler

I had always loved the Lindea kit but never thought I’d own her. When her head and arms popped up for sale I thought I would ask if the seller would part with just the head. She said she would throw in the arms. I took a while to paint her and when I was almost done, I couldn’t decide whether I wanted any hair or lashes on her. But I think her little newborn face looks great like this!
I had a special body made for her that had 3/4 arms and cuddle legs. Well, it turned out too short for her so I had another one made. But the legs were too chubby to fit in newborn sleepers. Then I decided to make my own out of pieces I had. I am so happy with it now!
She is named for Anastasia (Anya) from the animated movie and her middle name is from Lord of the Rings. Arwen Evenstar is the Elven Princess who loves Aragon, the ranger who is heir to the throne of Gondor.

Merry The Hobbit

DOB: January 14, 2021
Kit: Cherry by Lenka Polacek Hucinova

Merry was painted at the same time as my Pippin Hobbit but because the rooting was taking so long (and needing a break from it), I finished her much later. She was made to be his twin, and I did love her but she has found a new home. She’s the sweetest little thing and her hair is silky soft!

Pippin The Hobbit

DOB: October 20, 2020
Kit: Chobby by Lenka Polacek Hucinova

When I first discovered this SOLE (sold out limited edition) kit, I was in awe and in love! Being a huge Lord of the Rings fan, I knew I had to find this kit and make my own baby Hobbit! Luckily, I found one on ebay pretty quickly! Then I discovered he had a twin, Cherry – and finding her was easy too. Naming my Hobbit twins Merry and Pippin was so natural. And their hair is perfect for them! I love to dress my Pippin in mushrooms…if you know, you know!

Dimitri Elendil

DOB: October 5, 2020
Kit: Sam by Gudrun Legler

From the moment this kit was announced, I was in love. I knew he had to be mine. He has the sweetest face! After he was born, I had a hard time naming him! If you can’t tell by now, I love naming my babies and they are normally named after characters in a movie or show that I love. It was 2 days before it was settled. His first name is after Dimitri in the animated Anastasia. My youngest daughter suggested it but I wasn’t sold until she had me re-watch it to remind me that I loved him. Too funny. Elendil is the first High King of Gondor in Lord of the Rings. It was his sword that was used by his son, Isildur to cut the ring from Sauron’s hand.

Kanan Joseph

DOB: April 14, 2020
Kit: Corvin by Sabine Altenkirch

I also fell hard for this kit when he was first announced. After selling my first Kanan Joseph (Levi kit) I wanted to use that name again because I love it. I decided to make him look like a baby Jedi, with the cropped hair and Padawan braid.
His first name is after Kanan in Star Wars Rebels. I love the show, and he is the best Jedi! Joseph was after my dad’s middle name, plus the first Kanan was born around Christmas so it fit nicely! This little guy has recently traveled at light speed to a new home!

Freya Evenstar

DOB: August 3, 2019
Kit: Sabrina by Reva Schick

Oh, Freya! I love your studious face with your furrowed brow! How can anyone not? She is named Freya after Merlin’s one love interest in The Adventures of Merlin (one of my top all-time-favorite shows) and Evenstar after Arwen Evenstar – the Elven Princess who loves Aragorn, the ranger who is heir to the throne of Gondor. She is the first baby I rooted with alpaca hair. That was a daunting task combined with a hard vinyl head. I wasn’t completely sure I was keeping her but did buy the kit because I loved it. Before she was complete, I knew she was a keeper!

Katniss Mercy

DOB: February 17, 2019
Kit: Vivienne by Sandy Faber

This contagious smile won me over instantly, I pre-ordered her kit just for me. She was intended to be my Christmas baby for 2018 and I was literally going to name her Katniss Evergreen. However, a turn of events prevented me from working on her…and changed her name. That December we found out my dad’s heart was functioning at 10% and he would die without surgery. The whole family packed and drove up north to be with him and wait while he had a sextuple bypass. Her first name – I am sure you can guess – is from the main character in The Hunger Games. Her middle name, Mercy – is a remembrance of my dad’s second chance at life. Not only did God grant him mercy, but the hospital where he had his surgery was named Mercy. Other special touches are an abstract heart birthmark on her forehead in his honor, and warm brown hair similar to mine as a little girl.

Atticus Evan

DOB: July 22, 2018
Kit: Atticus by Laura Lee Eagles

I originally made this little guy to sell. My youngest daughter didn’t want me to sell him. I went back and forth a few times – trying to sell him and deciding to keep him. He never did sell, so I guess it was meant to be. His kit name suited him so well, I couldn’t change that. When I first made him, he wore a Captain America jumpsuit. His nickname became “Little Cap” and when thinking of a middle name, my daughter suggested Evan after the actor who plays Captain America (Chris Evans). This little guy is so cute and his paint job is pretty good considering it’s been 3 years since I made him, and my work has improved much since then! He is super cuddly and always my daughter’s go-to when she feels like holding one of my babies.

Merlin Balinor

DOB: June 29, 2018
Kit: Presley Awake by Bountiful Baby

Oh, this kit! He was chosen to represent what could be a baby Merlin from The Adventures of Merlin (one of my favorite shows ever). I took a lot of time selecting the kit and the eye color. I really think it matches the character well! The first time painting him, his mottling turned out way too dark. I stripped him and started over. Then as I was repainting him, I loved him bald! But I knew I wanted him to have hair like the character so his likeness would be more apparent. I rooted him but felt that I cut it too short and was too thin. I also added to his rooting to bring his hairline down. He has had a lot of work done on him! He’s my little Dragonlord and I love to dress him in his dragon theme. His first name is obvious, and his middle name is the name of Merlin’s father in the show.

Arthur James

DOB: September 28, 2017
Kit: Jakob by Karola Wegerich

This boy…wow. I bought the kit for myself. He was born on 9-28-2017 but reborn a couple of times after that! I loved the kit but kept being so dissatisfied with him. First his eyes were too large. Then his paint job was plain and needed more detail. And then I rooted him and his final birthday is February 12, 2019. LOL
I never intended him to be a look alike to Prince Arthur from The Adventures of Merlin. But I just kept seeing it in him! His middle name, James, is the actor’s last name, my dad’s name, and my youngest son’s middle name. I think you can tell I am all about names. LOL Afterwards, of course I had to create his counterpart, Merlin. They are, after all – two sides of the same coin.

Jarran Emrys

DOB: April 11, 2017
Kit: Gabriel by Bountiful Baby
Jarran will always be super special to me. He is the first baby that I actually chose to make for myself! His name Jarran…I thought I made it up. I was thinking about Kanan Jarrus (a character in Star Wars Rebels) and combined the two names to get Jarran. Afterwards I found out that the name is in the Bible, but spelled Jarren. Either way, I love the name! Emrys is another name that Merlin is known as in The Adventures of Merlin and I just love it. The two names together are just magical to me!

Clara Noelle

DOB: December 13, 2016
Kit: Naomi by Bountiful Baby

Clara was made only a couple of months into my reborning venture. I had originally made her with the intention to sell her. But she was adorable and it was Christmas…and I wanted her for my Christmas baby!  Her name is very connected to the holiday – Clara from the Nutcracker and Noelle is from the Christmas song.
